Sunbasket November 2016 - Burmese Chicken Aloo With Japanese Sweet Potato

This post contains affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a bit of compensation, but you won't be charged any more if you do! I purchased the following products using my own money, and all opinions are 100% my own.

So I'm going to preface this by saying I didn't get a pic of the finished, plated meal 😭. But I did get some during shots!

The meal is Burmese Chicken Aloo (which means potato in Burmese) with Japanese sweet potato.  From the meal write up - " This warming curry is traditionally made with white potatoes. (...) Here, Chef Justine swaps in Japaneses sweet potatoes to keep things paleo friendly."

The recipe card is printed on a decent sized paper, and the instructions are clear and easy to read. Nutritional content is included, also.

Almost all of the ingredients are provided for you. You will need some staples from your own kitchen - salt, freshly ground black pepper, and a neutral oil.

Here is an example of the way the ingredients are packaged. Each ingredient is labeled well and portioned out for you. There was minimal prep work - washing and chopping of onion and sweet potato and cilantro, for example.

I browned the chicken, seasoned with salt and pepper to taste.

Speaking of pepper, I've replaced my regular black pepper grinder with this four seasons pepper corn mill blend from Drogheria & Alimentari it's so yummy!

While the curry was cooking, I used my Instant Pot to cook up some white rice. I love my Instant Pot and use it at least 3 times a week, it is such a time saver. It has replaced my slow cooker and my rice maker.

I was done with everything in under 45 minutes.

We all enjoyed the meal - including my picky two year old.

The last shot I took before we scarfed it all down.

I love Sunbasket, it really helps me get out of that cooking the same things dinner rut. If you want to try it, please use my referral link and enjoy three free meals.

I wanted to also let you know that I have personally purchased all of the items I am writing about in my blog. I would not recommend anything I didn't love. If you click a referral link I will get a few pennies, but that's about it. All opinions are strictly my own.

I will be writing about the other meals we received, so stay tuned!

XOXO,

Belle
